Breast Surgery

As one of the most popular surgeries in the UK, breast surgery comes in a variety of forms. While some patients wish to increase or decrease the size of their breasts, others may wish to modify the shape. A common concern is that one breast may be significantly larger than the other, here, the patient seeks to even out their chest size to boost their self-esteem.

Over time, the breasts can go through a number of changes. Pregnancy, weight loss or gain, breast feeding, ageing and genetics can have a profound effect on the visual appearance of the breasts. Breasts can lose firmness and volume therefore cosmetic surgery can help to correct this.
Epilium & Skin surgeons will assess the needs and concerns of each patient to determine the right course of action.

This surgery helps women feel more confident wearing clothes, underwear and swimwear they have always loved but were not comfortable with.

In response to changes in weight, hormones, pregnancy or just because your natural breast are too slight you would wish to have a breast enlargement. This involves a surgical addition of implants under the breast tissue to improve the shape, size and form of your breast.

In Epilium & Skin clinic, breast implants are performed by our GMC registered French plastic surgeons who have many decades of experience.

Our surgeons use the highest quality of CE mark and FDA approved implants for a natural look and feel.

When it comes to breast enlargement, our team of surgeon can also use the fat transfer technique to add volume to the breasts, with fat taken from another area of the body.

This technique can also be coupled with breast implants.

First consultation

You will talk through the options on whether you want the breast implants under or over the muscle, you will determine the size and style of the implant; whether you prefer round or teardrop implant.

If you would prefer the fat transfer technique, this would also be the perfect opportunity to discuss with the surgeon to see if you are eligible for this process.

During the surgery, an incision is made on the perimeter of the areola where the implant is inserted. Once symmetrical the incision is closed with stitches.

The procedure takes approximately one hour to perform and the length of time you’ll remain after will depend on your individual case. We endeavour to allow as many patients as possible to be day cases under sedation rather than general anaesthetic, meaning you can return home in the evening. However, some procedures will require an overnight stay in hospital to monitor your progress. Your surgeon will discuss this fully with you depending on the best option for you and your body.

In case you have a breast enlargement by fat transfer, the surgeon will harvest fat from your own body to create a fuller breast. The benefit of this type of breast augmentation is that there is no foreign object placed inside the body and with no cutting of the skin therefore there will be no scarring. Fat is extracted from the body by liposuction from the hips, thighs, or abdomen. After the fat has been processed and purified, it is meticulously injected back into the breasts.

Our expert surgeons will work with you to understand your objectives and the results you want to achieve.

If the breasts have lost volume and appear to droop downwards, a breast uplift or breast reduction may be required.
In the case of large breasts causing you real discomfort with back and shoulder pain or if you feel distressed or unhappy with your overall silhouette, then you can think of a breast reduction.

Before and after woman breast reduction surgery

Breast reduction, also known as mammoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure to remove excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body.

Feel free to book a consultation with our Epilium & Skin plastic surgeons experts. You will discuss how they can alleviate the discomfort associated with overly large breast.
They will suggest the way they are able to reshape the breast itself or lift them. The surgeon can not only make the breasts smaller but also improve breast symmetry and eliminate sagging.

You will be individually informed of the way they perform through incision with surgical removal of the excess fat and tissue depending on your individual condition, breast composition and amount of reduction desired.

Then a personalised study will be determined after matching your personal preferences and the surgeon’s advice.

With better proportioned breasts, your overall silhouette will be more balanced and attractive.
