Risks and Contraindications
Coolsculpting risks, even if they are few, exist. Epilium & Skin wants to inform you about all possible issues.
We will not treat a patient with cryolipolysis if they suffer from excess weight or obesity.
We should be able to treat those with loose or flabby skin, but a treatment consultation with our specialist will evaluate the possibilities.
In addition, this technique is not recommended for people with thin bulges or where these lack density.
Finally, we do not recommend Coolsculpting when the patient has the following characteristics:
- Strong reaction to cold temperatures such as cryoglobulinemia (cryoglobulins present in the blood), cold urticaria or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria (the sudden presence of hemoglobin in the urine).
- In the case of poor blood circulation in the area to be treated. If the patient has Raynaud’s disease (impaired blood circulation affecting the extremities such as fingers, toes, nose, ears).
- Hernias.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Patients wearing or fitted with an electronic device (such as an artificial pacemaker).
- When there is an injury, eczema, inflammation, recent surgery on or near the area treatment.
The results are convincing and long-lasting providing you do not put on too much weight following the treatment.
