Body Concern – Excessive Abdominal Skin
The loss of an excess amount of fat or post-pregnancy, may result to loosening skin in the abdominal area.
After a large reduction of fat, the skin of the tummy which used to be stretched over lots of layers of fatty tissue needs time to adapt to its new, thinner body. The abdominal muscles may have become loosened and result in sagging skin. A strict diet and exercise program could help re-shape the new body and retract the skin slowly.
However, in the event of a very large weight-loss, poor skin elasticity and/or the loss of residence of the abdominal muscles the surgery may be the best option.
