What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy originated in Europe more than a decade ago. Its efficiency has been proven in various medical treatments including orthopedics, treating arthritis pain, treating tendon areas, and more. This is due to the benefits of high concentration of platelets in plasma vs normal blood which is achieved by “Vampire Facial”. Injections of a liquid suspension of platelets is the basis of regenerative medicine and cellular therapy. By injecting additional platelets, we improve the body’s natural process of collagen rejuvenation. In our UK clinic, we use Swiss Regen Lab tubes and centrifuges for the blood separation process. This brand has one of the highest platelet concentration factor procedures used in London.

What is a Vampire Facelift?

“Vampire Facelift” or “Vampire Facial” are terms used to describe the innovative PRP facial treatment where platelet-rich plasma is injected into the skin of the face, resulting in the complete rejuvenation of the skin tissue. PRP vampire facial has been gaining popularity around the world within the last few years.

PRP Vampire Facelift is a 3 step medical procedure:

  • First, the doctor draws blood from your arm.
  • Second, the tube of collected blood is put into a machine called a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma, which is rich in platelets.
  • Third, the plasma (rich in growth factors) is injected into the face, neck, décolleté, hands or scalp.

The growth factors found in the plasma signal cells to function, causing the generation of healthy new skin.

How Does the Vampire Facelift Work?

During the vampire facial, our expert doctor or nurse will collect 10ml of your blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets in the red blood. This suspension will be drawn into syringes to be re-injected into the dermis either by microneedling and/or injections. It will help new blood vessel formation together with collagen production to help build a new dermis.

PRP is a 60 min treatment. For best vampire facelift results, 3 to 6 sessions are recommended with 4 to 6 weeks intervals.
